Rain in Siena

It's been really rainy lately. Yesterday we walked to the police station to get our blue stamps (so they don't send me home too soon), it wasn't raining yet but it was cold. Apparently Italians really don't wear shorts (girls at least) which is why I was being stared at the whole walk there. My bed also seems to have a spider in it because I wake up with bites (not bed bugs don't worry we already checked). We then went to the St. Dominco church which was beautiful but we couldn't take pictures inside. We then just walked...and walked...and walked... around. I feel like I'm already shedding "american" weight with the smaller portions and so much walking. After a quick siesta we went out at night and walked out to the Duomo. The marble in the moon light was gorgeous, and all of the statues coming off of it were more intense in the moon light. It was St. John day yesterday apparently so the Piaza was full of people.

Today I'm cleaning my room, doing laundry, and getting some pants. All that I packed was shorts, skirts and dresses but it is so cold!! My berlitz tapes are playing all day too while I clean, which people are teasing me for but not being able to speak Italian fluently yet is driving me crazy.

One thing that I'm having a really hard time adjusting too is how relaxed everyone is. Getting lunch takes 3 hours and dinner takes even longer. They are just so relaxed and never show up on time. You have to ask to get the bill and then they bring it an hour later. I'm trying really hard to relax like them but I get so antsy. In California it's all about going going going but here it's about relaxing, taking naps, and enjoying the wine. I feel lazy and like I'm wasting my day when one meal takes so long but I'm trying to get used to it. Mom and Dad I already apologize for when I come back and take 3 hours to eat one piece of bread...

Italy plays today so I get to wear my italy fifa jersey to the pub, I'm just waiting for the stores to re-open at 3 so I can get some pants!

Happy fathers day Dad =) I miss you and love you very much!

Ciao
