This past week has been a busy one!
I got back from Sorrento Sunday night. Tuesday I had a cooking class in the morning and then wine tasting in the afternoon. For the cooking class we went to a culinary school in Siena to use their kitchen.
Learning to cook italian food was AMAZINGGG. Mainly because I made the pasta and dessert! When making the pasta I met two British girls that were just out of High school and were traveling around before going to college. The chef only spoke Italian and kept coming up and ranting about how we wern't doing it perfectly which made us crack up every time. We either put too much flower or not enough every time but the pasta all turned out just fine. For dessert we made this chocolate mouse thing. The female chef kept telling us that it didn't have flour or butter so it was a "leggero" (light) cake, we get it we get it americans love fatty food, just teach me how to cook it! The two british girls (Sarah and Christina) ended up coming to Roma with us this weekend.
After the cooking class I had a few hours to myself and then met up with a group of students from my program to go wine tasting! It was my first time going so I learned a lot from the trip. Our program director was actually the one who gave the tour but it was in this cute vineyard somewhere in Tuscany (I have the card somewhere in my travel journal with the names). Learning what kinds of wine to have with different foods was really interesting and overall it was just a good bonding experience with everyone I went with.
