Montepulciano

So this thursday right after my Midterm my friends Hazzle, Laura and I ran to the bus station to get a bus to the train station to catch the train to Montepulciano, a town up in the mountains. We couldn't get round trip tickets so we had to buy the returning tickets at the Montepulciano station. Unfortunately when we got there the ticket box looked like this...

we finally decided to wing it and figure out a bus back to Siena.

The Duomo of Montepulciano.

We found a really cute park after wandering around. Any green after being in Siena for too long is always amazing.

This building was used in the last Twilight movie New Moon.

Found a little garden in an alleyway.

Ok so you can't really see it but there is a bridge in the background (the white street in the background). What happened was this: we were looking for the bus station and running out of time so instead of waiting at little bus stops we went searching for the main station. Montepulciano is built on a mountain (monte) so we had to walk along a road without a sidewalk to get down the mountain. Eventually this "road" turned into a freeway. If you've ever been to Italy you know the drivers are crazy (they drive fast and close to walls and other cars). We were fine until we got to a bridge. The cars were driving really fast across it and so close to each other and the side wall that there was no way we could walk on the road.
Our only options were to walk back up the mountain and find a new road around or hop onto the side wall and walk across the bridge. So we walked across on the railing, the whole time people were laughing in their cars and honking at us. O those crazy California girls...
Finally we got back to the train station in Siena, but our bus back to the inner city wasn't running anymore so had to walk. I ran back to my dorms. It took me 20 min but I stopped to take a picture of this fountain in the sunset lighting before I continued my run.

I got back to my dorm at 10pm, ate dinner, took a shower and grabbed my suitcase and ran out the door back to the train station with my group to get the midnight bus to Napoli!
